Human Resources Generalist
The HR Generalist will work alongside the Human Resources team to perform day-to day people operations, execute all administrative tasks, and support a positive work environment. This role will be crucial in sustaining a great experience for our employees while we continue to experience rapid growth. FREEBIRD Stores is looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, is detail oriented and most importantly, is passionate about working with people. The ideal candidate has solid human resources experience but is eager and willing to learn and embody our company culture.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Human Resources Manager to create and execute best HR policies and practices across all departments
- Have a solid understanding of all evolving company policies and procedures to answer employee questions
- Maintain compliance with always changing HR laws and regulations both at the state and federal levels
- Participate in company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal reporting requirements including any related to EEO, ADA, FMLA, DOL, Workers Compensation, etc.
- Demonstrate the highest levels of integrity in handling confidential information
- Help research and implement benefit plans
- Learn and be knowledgeable on our health insurance plans to help enroll new hires throughout the year
- Prepare and roll out open enrollment yearly
- Work with insurance broker to make sure all enrollments are up to date and accurate
- Manage COBRA notices for new enrollees and terminated employees
- Maintain employee personnel files
- Coordinates full-cycle recruitment activities (from job posting through the offer stage)
- Manage job postings across Indeed, LinkedIn and company career page
- Allocate job applicants to appropriate hiring manager daily
- Screen applicants and set up interviews when necessary
- Follow up post interview with both hiring manager and applicant and record outcome
- Assist and support evolving employee onboarding program
- Participate in onboarding all new hires
- Plan team building and bonding events that encourage cross-departmental engagement
- Works closely with employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Put together and send out weekly companywide emails highlighting individual and team accomplishments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 3+ years’ experience in a human resources position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Compensation Range: $50,000-$70,000
